ARP created these heavy duty head studs to help overcome head gasket failures that can occur in Ford 6.4L Diesel engines.
To overcome head gasket failures that can occur in diesel engines employed in truck and RV applications, industry leader ARP has introduced extra heavy-duty head studs for the popular Ford, Dodge and GM powerplants. These ARP studs are rated at 220,000 psi tensile strength, and provide the clamping force required to keep cylinder heads from lifting due to higher combustion pressures. The studs are manufactured in ARP's Santa Paula, CA plant from proprietary ARP 2000 material, with threads rolled after heat-treat to provide optimum fatigue strength. They are centerless ground to assure perfect concentricity. The ends of the studs are broached to facilitate easy installation. This feature also enables the cylinder head to be removed in tight quarters. Also included in each kit are heat-treated, chrome-moly steel 12-point nuts and parallel-ground washers. They are black oxide finished for extra durability.

ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant has been specifically designed to reduce tension preload scatter and eliminate the need to cycle high performance engine fasteners before final installation. ARP Ultra-Torque far surpasses all requirements offered by previous ARP lubricants in terms of fastener preload repeatability and performance lubricating properties.
Nearly every professional engine builder relies on ARP Pro Series head studs for their high-output competition diesel engines. There is no better performing head stud for your diesel truck on the market today.
ARP head studs for the 6.4L Power Stroke use premium grade 8740 alloy and a proprietary ARP2000 alloy that combine for a rating far superior to standard aircraft quality alloy steels. During manufacturing, each stud is placed vertically into special racks and precisely heat-treated to 200,000 psi for the 8740 material and 220,000 psi for the ARP2000 material. This ensures complete heat penetration and the results are far superior to those lesser quality studs from other manufacturers who just dump pieces into a basket and hope for the best.
Following the heat treatment, each stud is precision centerless ground to make sure it is as close to perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part. It's important to note lesser quality studs are not even centerless ground. Instead they are often thread rolled in bar stock form. The tight tolerances and unparalleled precision that 6.4L Powerstroke ARP head studs are manufactured to, you will discover that gaskets and cylinder heads will glide right into perfect alignment - something that won't happen with inferior quality head studs.
ARP head studs for the 6.4L Ford Powerstroke are thread rolled after heat-treatment, which gives them 20-times better fatigue strength than inferior brands who thread their studs prior to heat-treating. It costs a lot more to do it this way, because it's tough on tooling, but the results are well worth the extra effort.
This Premium quality 8740 and ARP2000 head stud kit is designed to fit the 6.0L Ford Powerstroke are available for most all engines. You simply won't find a better quality stud on the market from any other manufacturer. Look for the genuine ARP stamp on the side of each stud as your assurance of quality.
